Baylon lowered his menu, looked up, and growled. “What the fuck!”

Diego looked up. “Huh?”

Baylon glared at Ryder who was watching him from across the restaurant. “That son of a bitch!” Baylon got up and stormed over to Ryder.

Ryder sat sipping his beer as Baylon approached his table. “Nice to see you, Bayboy?”

Baylon leaned into Ryder’s face. “Get up and leave, now!”

“No.”

Baylon slammed his hand down onto the table. “You’re going to blow my…”

“Oh, I’ll blow you.” Ryder took a pull of his beer.

“If you care about me, you’ll leave…now.” Baylon looked away.

Ryder put down his beer and stood. “I do care.”

Baylon walked back to his table and sat.

Diego gave him a minute to calm down before speaking. “You, ok?”

“I don’t trust the guy.”

“I can have him taken care of if you want?”

“No, I warned him to keep his distance, or I’d slit his throat.”

“Remind me never to get on your bad side.”

“He gave me some bullshit story about wanting to buy me a drink for saving his ass.”

“BJ, maybe he’s grateful.” Diego shrugged.

“Grateful or not, I don’t drink with anyone who wears a badge.”

“Except Noah.”

Baylon leaned across the table. “I don’t ever want to hear his name again.”

“Temper, temper!”

Baylon waved the server over. “We’ll have another round.” Baylon wished he could forget Ryder and how his ass looked in his tight faded blue jeans as he exited the restaurant.
